Come and destress by building some robots (Lego kits provided) and battling them on
Saturday March 31, 12pm to 4pm in the MacEwan Ballroom, University of Calgary.

Upon arrival at 12pm:
-Make teams of 3-4 people.
-Each team will be provided with a Lego Mindstorms kit for the day (in exchange for a driver’s license).
-Rules on the jousting competition will be handed out.

Each team will have 3 hours to build and program the robot with their Mindstorms kit (no extra parts will be allowed).

You can use your own laptop to program the robot (for free software Google “Lego NXC”) and sample program to get you going will be provided.
University students can program the robot in ICT 215,216 if they don’t have a laptop or want to use the graphical Lego software on the computers in those rooms.

There will be an hour of single-elimination tournament jousting. We will have multiple tournaments if time permits.

The competition is open and free to, to all first-year engineering students, and to all electrical/computer/software engineering students, and to members of the Western Canadian Robotics Society. If you do not fit into these categories, you will be charged $10 admission to the event.
