Please read the description and rules. There will be three categories of competition

1. Girls and boys in grades 5 and below
2. Girls and boys in Grades 6-8
3. Girls in grades 9 and up
4. Open category – anyone can enter a robot

   Does the user determine where and in what direction the robot starts, or is the robot randomly placed in the field?

   Yes, the user can start the robot wherever he/she likes.
