The “Aero Space Museum of Calgary” has changed its name to “The Hangar Flight Museum”. We are still WCRS, and still meet in the same place, but the name of our host has changed.
The Aero Space Museum has a couple of big events happening, so we will not be able to hold our usual gathering there on:
Come on out and join us on other Saturdays from 10AM until Noon.
The WCRS executive has been hard at work getting the society charter updated. We believe we have something that fits with the current and future goals of the group. There is to be a special meeting of the society to get approval of the members starting at 12:00 noon on Saturday February 14, 2015 at the Aero Space museum. This will be immediately after the normal Saturday morning activities.
The proposed document is available for review by members. Contact one of the executive to get a copy ahead of time.
The museum has been booked for a private event on Saturday December 6, 2014, so our regular gathering has been cancelled for that day only. Back to normal for Dec 13.
Mark your calendars, reserve a Saturday Morning:
Elections for the WCRS executive will be held 2014, September 20, at the Aero Space Museum.
Come out and support the Society by adding your input into what we should be doing, and who should be helping organize it.
For those interested in the theory that goes into the practice, here is an article discussing the limits on [flying] maneuverability in cluttered envrionments. Inspired by abilities of birds, but ‘simple’ enough to soon be available for use in UAVs.
